Startup meets Industry - Matchmaking Event

March 31, 2022

The digital transformation has now spread to almost every area of industry. As a result, topics such as data collection and analysis are becoming increasingly important in order to secure a competitive advantage even as an established company. However, as there is rarely capacity available for the expansion of such areas alongside day-to-day business, we at innoWerft regularly organise events at which we create formats to bring SMEs together with innovative start-ups.

One of these matchmaking events took place on 17 March 2022, together with EIT Manufacturingat the innoWerft.

The event opened with a keynote speech by Dr Andreas Bihlmaier, Chief Software Architect at ABB Robotics, on the topic of "David with Goliath: Making the most of the strengths and weaknesses of established and young companies together". This was followed by a keynote speech by Stefan Ehrlich from SQL Projekt AG on the topic of "IT as a trap: How "spaghetti integration" prevents innovation and what the way out is!".

This was immediately followed by the matchmaking discussions!

Here, representatives of SMEs were given the opportunity to exchange ideas with selected start-ups, discuss them, analyse successful use cases and jointly identify development potential for companies.

Visitors were not only able to see their work for themselves, but also get to know the people behind it, discover synergies and take a first step towards the future together.

The following start-ups took part in the event:

  • Aucobo - With its data-supported workflow management, Aucobo increases up to 30% of plant efficiency in production
  • Flux MES - offers a Manufacturing Execution System and thus combines maximum transparency and flexibility with maximum user-friendliness
  • HD Vision Systems - With the LumiScan, they offer bin picking with unrivalled quality and reliability - even with shiny and complex surfaces and in poor lighting conditions
  • SenseING - With träck, you can see where goods and devices are at any time in real time, and with their other solutions they also help to obtain information with just a few clicks, automate processes in the background and speed up communication
  • IUNA AI -Automates visual inspection in production - for quality assurance and to detect systemic problems in production
  • DENKweit - offers AI-based image evaluation (Vision AI) with which you can obtain an image evaluation in less than 20 minutes and approx. 15 images
  • OndoSense - With their sensor solutions, they enable customers to obtain relevant data for the intelligent control and monitoring of production systems and machines
  • Visometry - with their products VisionLib and Twyn, they offer an object tracking SDK for industrial augmented reality and a software platform for quality control with AR & Digital Twins

Those who hadn't had enough could also use the time between the talks to gain further exciting input at a workshop. Here, everything revolved around the topic of "Implementing innovative applications in production".

The event concluded with a roundtable discussion on "Innovation partnerships - How can established companies and young innovators work together successfully?".

We are very proud that this event was also such a great success for all visitors. We are delighted that we were once again able to make a small contribution to driving progress forward and bring medium-sized companies together with start-ups in the long term.

We are already looking forward to the next match-making event!
