Innoclusion Challenges
12 – Tool to translate into easy language
People with disabilities have the right to participate in society, and at Diakonie Kork, we aim to create a barrier-free environment. Barriers vary by disability and must be addressed gradually. A major challenge is complex language in texts and official documents. This requires costly expert translation, leading to few resources being available in easy language.
13 – Creating timetables and duty rosters with KI
Creating duty rosters, shift schedules or timetables is an art in itself. Fortunately, there are programs that provide active support! Nevertheless, creating these schedules can become a Herculean task, as there are too many offers for the few rooms in the school or the strict requirements of the regulatory authorities for staffing a residential group are not fully covered by the rota program. As a result, employees have to spend a lot of time improving the automatically generated plans.
14 – Preparation of social reports
Every 6 months to 3 years, the Office for Integration Assistance in Society requests a report on individuals in need of support to assess whether their current services still meet their needs. Based on the report and personal interviews, services are adjusted accordingly. This process involves many staff members, from those providing content to social workers writing and sending reports, and secretaries managing deadlines and filing documents.
15 – Practical safety and emergency assistance for elderly individuals living alone
Create straightforward, practical solutions to enhance safety and provide quick emergency assistance for elderly individuals living alone, especially those with limited digital skills. This challenge targets isolated elderly residents in remote areas like Lastovo, Croatia. The solution must be user-friendly, incorporating simple technologies like wearable emergency devices, home sensors, and telemedicine access, enabling easy help requests and timely assistance without requiring extensive technical knowledge.
16 – Interactive portal for sharing cultural, historical, and daily life knowledge among croatian islanders, families, friends, and the diaspora
Create an interactive digital portal for elderly Croatian islanders to connect with family, friends, and the diaspora in Australia, Canada, and beyond. This platform will enable users from Lastovo to share their rich history and personal stories, bridging generations and preserving cultural heritage in a modern, user-friendly way.
17 – Simplifying and connecting admissions management for complex care providers
As a full-service geriatric care provider, we face challenges in customer admissions. While there is a waiting list for inpatient services, our outpatient and day-care admissions lack a digitized system, leading to poor communication. This disconnect hinders our ability to identify individual needs and offer preventative services, resulting in unnecessary inpatient stays and inefficient resource use, ultimately compromising care quality for our customers.
18 – Accessibility in the home
Homeowners frequently encounter accessibility issues in older buildings, with high thresholds and narrow corridors making movement difficult, especially for wheelchair users. This limits independence and increases social isolation. Additionally, the high cost of barrier-free modifications poses a challenge for those wishing to stay in their homes.
19 – Networking digital solutions in care
The care sector has numerous digital applications aimed at easing the daily tasks of care staff, covering areas like documentation, medication management, and communication. However, these solutions often operate in isolation, leading to confusion and inefficiency as staff frequently switch between apps. Additionally, many of these applications are not integrated with central care software, resulting in duplicate data entry.
