The challenge

Good and clear communication is the key to working together successfully. This can be cooperation within a team, communication with people with disabilities, for example in outpatient care, or contact with relatives and legal guardians. At Diakonie Kork, there are many areas that benefit from good communication. At the moment, this is proving difficult as we do not yet have a standardised messenger and mail programmes or MS Teams are not really handy. As a result, messengers that are not GDPR-compliant are used from time to time. This is a problem because they are not covered by the GDPR and so much relevant information cannot be communicated by using them.

 

Possible solutions 

One solution would be a messenger that is suitable for communication in various scenarios. Specifically, this involves:

    • Communication within the team
    • Communication between different business units
    • Publicising information
    • Communication with clients/patients
    • Communication with relatives
    • Communication with legal representatives
    • Communication with other parties from a client’s support network

Boundary Conditions

    • Compatible with German data protection regulations (GDPR)
    • Easy to use, accessible for people with disabilities
    • Viable on android and ios

Existing technologies/systems to integrate the solution

    • At the moment we are using Mail, Teams, phone calls
