{"id":14049,"date":"2025-04-15T15:40:41","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T13:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.innowerft.com\/?p=14049"},"modified":"2026-08-08T20:21:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T18:21:04","slug":"okr-the-key-to-successful-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.innowerft.com\/en\/okr-der-schluessel-zu-erfolgreichen-zielen\/","title":{"rendered":"What are OKRs (Objectives and Key Results)?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) are a goal-setting and management framework that helps organisations define clear, measurable and ambitious objectives and track their progress transparently.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The concept was originally developed by Intel Corporation and later became well known and widely adopted, particularly through Google LLC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An OKR always consists of two components:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong> a high-quality, inspiring and clearly worded description of the objective<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key Results:<\/strong> concrete, measurable results that reflect progress towards the objective<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The objective answers the question \u201eWhat do we want to achieve?\u201c, whilst the key results answer \u201eHow will we know when we\u2019ve achieved it?\u201c.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Example:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Objective: To improve the user experience within the product<\/li>\n<li>Key Results:\n<ul>\n<li>30% reduction in loading time %<\/li>\n<li>Increase in user satisfaction (NPS) by 15 points<\/li>\n<li>10% increase in the conversion rate %<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Typical characteristics of OKRs are:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>a clear focus on a small number of prioritised objectives<\/li>\n<li>measurable results rather than vague tasks<\/li>\n<li>Transparency across all teams<\/li>\n<li>regular review (usually quarterly)<\/li>\n<li>A combination of ambitious (\u201estretch\u201c) and realistic targets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main benefits of OKRs lie in the improved alignment of teams and resources:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>greater transparency regarding corporate objectives<\/li>\n<li>greater strategic focus<\/li>\n<li>better coordination between teams<\/li>\n<li>Greater motivation through clear goal-setting<\/li>\n<li>faster identification of progress or problems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OKRs differ from traditional target-setting systems in that they focus more on results than on activities and are often deliberately set at an ambitious level to encourage innovation and growth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OKRs are particularly useful for start-ups, as they operate in a dynamic environment and need to ensure quickly that all team activities contribute to shared priorities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">innoWerft helps founders to set up OKR systems, define clear growth targets and translate strategic direction into scalable processes.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OKR (Objectives and Key Results) is a goal-setting framework that helps companies to define clear, measurable goals and track progress effectively.
