An Initial Public Offering, or IPO for short, marks the process by which a private company becomes public by offering its shares to the public on the capital market for the first time. This step enables companies to raise capital from public investors, which can be used for expansion, debt repayment or other strategic investments. A successful IPO can not only give a company access to new sources of funding, but also strengthen its brand presence and build trust with customers, partners and potential employees.
